1. AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY:

People have been using this phrase countless times and ironically enough, even doctors. In the case of varicose veins, fruits such as apple, grape, cherry and many more are commonly advised for eating because of the high amount of rutin. Rutin is nothing but a chemical compound. It aids the action of vitamin C and increases blood circulation. (Vitamin C is a natural element which is excellent for vascular health). Rutin also contains anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic and anti -oxidant elements. And it is also a vasoprotective (protection of blood vessels) agent.

2. THE GREEK “CURE OF CURES”:

Watercress is a vegetable. It was even used back in 400 BC by the Greeks. It was their “cure of cures” for any and all diseases or conditions. Watercress would be a part of the treatment or recovery process. For preventing varicose veins, doctors also look upon the benefits of watercress. It is the modern herbal medicine, containing large amounts of Vitamin C and E, iron, copper and fiber.

3. AVOCADOS:

This fruit, apart from containing high levels of vitamin C and E, is rich in glutathione. The anti-oxidant, glutathione helps in protecting and guarding your arteries and veins from oxidant damage.

[Biological oxidation is a process providing energy for an organism to function. However, when the same occurs at the wrong place in the body, such as inside the veins, it can develop degenerative diseases, such as varicose veins.]

4. ASPARAGUS:

With prominent levels of vitamin C and E along with calcium and phosphorous, this vegetable is a front runner in preventing varicose veins. It is excellent for vein health. It also prevents the vein or capillaries from cuts.

5. BEETROOT:

This vegetable prevents varicose veins effectively. Containing a chemical known as betacyanin, the vegetable reduces the amount of homocysteine in the blood. Homocysteine is an acid. Homocysteine when produced in high amounts, becomes harmful to the body.

6. GINGER:

Ginger is another important vegetable. It helps prevent varicose veins. It increases the circulation of blood in the body by dissolving fibrin present in the blood. Fibrin is an insoluble protein formed during blood clots. And it is the main reason for varicose veins.

7. ROSEMARY:

The herb, rosemary, contains high amounts of rosmarinic acid. This acid is supposed to increase blood circulation in the body. The herb further helps to prevent tissue damage in the body from any type of acid. In addition, it mixes with any type of food, be it soups or vegetables or meat.
